YCSD Students Win Big at Regional Science FairPosted on: Friday, March 25, 2022Students from all York County School Division middle and high schools represented the division in the Tidewater Regional Science Fair, with 35 entries earning awards ranging from First Place to Third Place. 2021-22 YCSD Calendar AdjustmentsPosted on: Tuesday, March 01, 2022The School Board approved a change to the division’s calendar at Monday night’s meeting. Friday, March 11 will be converted from an Early Release Day to a Student Holiday/Staff Workday. Additionally, the division will now issue Quarter 3 interims on Tuesday, March 15. Read more |
YCSD Lifts All Mask RequirementsPosted on: Monday, February 28, 2022Late this afternoon, the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI) released an update on the state standard which has required employers to maintain mask mandates for staff. The update aligns the state standard to newly released CDC guidance. Read more |
YCSD Mitigation Strategies - Transportation Mask UpdatePosted on: Sunday, February 27, 2022Late Friday afternoon, the CDC announced it will no longer require individuals to wear masks on buses or vans operated by public or private school systems. This means that beginning tomorrow Monday, February 28, use of masks on division transportation will be optional for students. Read more |

YCSD Mitigation Strategies - Student Masking UpdatePosted on: Monday, February 14, 2022During a special meeting this evening, the York County School Board voted unanimously to adjust some of the division’s COVID-19 mitigation strategies. YCSD Virtual Learning Day - January 21, 2022Posted on: Thursday, January 20, 2022Friday, January 21, will be a virtual learning day for all York County School Division students, including preschool, due to the forecast for winter weather tonight and tomorrow. While the forecasts continue to change slightly as to the timing and amount of snowfall, we are making this decision now to give our families and staff enough notice to prepare and to ensure students and staff are not traveling to and from school in potentially hazardous conditions.
