YCSD Principal Earns Top HonorsPosted On: 7/12/2012 |
The York County School Division (YCSD) is proud to announce that the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals (VASSP) has named Antonia Fox as the 2012 Outstanding High School Principal of the Year. Fox, who earned the honor for her professional leadership at York High School, competed against high school principals from across the state. Each year, a Virginia high school principal is recognized by the VASSP for excelling in seven key areas: willingness to take risks to improve student achievement; anticipation of emerging problems; moving actively to implement school goals; working collaboratively with teachers and staff members to improve the educational program and student achievement; ensuring a positive school climate; involving the school community; and demonstrating creativity and imagination in bringing about positive change. "We are proud that Ms. Fox’s exemplary performance as a principal has been recognized by the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals," stated Dr. Eric Williams, York County School Division Superintendent. Fox joined the York County School division as a teacher at York High School in 1995. She also spent time as the school’s Assessment and Compliance Coordinator. In July 2006, she became the assistant principal and assumed full leadership as York High School Principal in 2008. She was recently appointed as the principal of Tabb Middle School. Fox earned her bachelor’s degree from Old Dominion University. She holds a master’s degree from the College of William & Mary, where she is now a doctoral candidate. |
