VIMS Visits Grafton Middle Seventh GradersPosted On: 5/4/2012 |
Students at Grafton Middle School (GMS) listened as Sarah McGuire explained the food chain of the Chesapeake Bay. Sarah, from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) brought preserved specimens of the fish so students could see the sizes of the different fish. Students were able to investigate different specimens such as the anatomy of an eel that can be found in the Chesapeake Bay. This activities, centered around the Chesapeake Bay Ecosystem, was part of a presentation from VIMS during their visit to Kristin Thompson's seventh grade Life Science class at GMS to teach the students about our local ecosystem. |
