York High Chess Team Wins 2nd Place in the 2011-12 Virginia State Scholastic & Collegiate Chess Championships

The York High School (YHS) chess team won second place in 2011-2012 Virginia State Scholastic and Collegiate Chess Championships held by the Virginia Chess Federation over the weekend in Tyson's corner, Washington D.C. The YHS chess team members are Matthew Shih, Correy Xu, Alex Liang and Andrew Luo. In addition to winning second as a team, Matthew Shih won 10th, Correy Xu won 11th and Alex Liang won 14th place as individuals.
