Yorktown Middle Flies Higher with Visit from Tuskegee Airmen!Posted On: 3/9/2012 |

Tuskegee Airmen Sgt. Harry Quinton and CMSgt. Grant Williams were the guest speakers at Yorktown Middle School's (YMS) African American History month assembly on February 27. The WWII pilots shared their stories of adversity and accomplishment, as they paved the way for full integration in the US Military. The Yorktown Fife and Drum Corps provided a patriotic prelude and eighth grade soloist Taylor Burrell sang I Believe. YMS would like to thank USAF Capt. Stephanie Jackson, Maj. Kenneth Carmichael and Lt. Col. T. J. Spann for coordinating the Tuskegee Airmen's presentation. |
