Grafton Middle Students Explore Planets

Terry Zeytoonian's Grafton Middle School (GMS) Science 6 classes participated in a group simulation activity where they applied knowledge of planets in our Solar System to one they "discovered". Students identified features, atmospheric conditions, size and other characteristics that made each group's work unique. The classes then researched the standards set by the International Astronomical Union (IAE) to determine whether their discoveries met the criteria for being called a planet.
