Congratulations Gina Mancuso-Sidhu

Tabb High School's (THS) Career and Technical Education teacher Gina Mancuso-Sidhu received the 2011-2012 Wachovia Wells Fargo Foundation Whole School Improvement Grant in the amount of $1,875.00 for Financial Literacy for High Schools. The York Foundation for Public Education, Inc. prize patrol presented Gina with Whole School Initiative Grant in her classroom on November 21. She will use the grant money to purchase access to an online financial literacy simulation that will allow students to participate in an interactive real time simulation that develops money managing skills in a safe environment. Students will be assigned a job with a salary and in turn will develop a budget to pay their bills (online and with their simulated personal checking account), save for retirement in a 401k, and try and prepare for unforeseen financial dilemmas. Making financial mistakes in this simulation will provide students with valuable learning experiences without the fees and credit damage the same mistakes cost in the real world.
