National DECA Week with the Tabb High DECA ChapterPosted On: 10/21/2011 |
Tabb High School (THS) DECA participated in National DECA Week, October 9 – 15, with "DECA Spirit Week" and recognized each day during National DECA Week.
To start off each day of the week, Christina Majka, Marketing Coordinator and DECA Sponsor, would read a company slogan on the morning announcements. The first class to call the marketing classroom with the correct answer won! The entire school was talking about it and would result in 15-20 incoming calls at a time. The winning class received Rice Krispy Treats that said Happy DECA Week on them for each student and teacher.
On Monday each DECA member arrived to school and discovered their lockers decorated by the DECA Advisors.
Tuesday was Lunch Trivia Day. Before each of the 3 lunch blocks at THS, 5 blue and gold DECA diamonds were placed under 5 random chairs. At the end of each lunch block one of the DECA officers got on a loud speaker and told the lunch room to check under their chairs for a DECA diamond trivia question. They would bring the question up, and the DECA Officer would announce it. If they could answer it correctly or find a DECA member that could, they got a prize!
Wednesday was DECA Diamond Bling day. The entire student body and faculty was invited to wear diamonds for candy to promote DECA throughout the school.
Thursday was a school-wide appearance by DECA Man - Alex Tudor. He wore his DECA man outfit all day and stopped by every lunch block. Students could ask him anything they wanted about DECA.
Friday was Fri-Day, Tie-Day. The entire student body was encouraged to wear a tie that day. All students and faculty caught wearing a tie got a piece of candy and thank you from DECA.
It was a very successful week of promotion and recognition for the Tabb High DECA chapter.
