On September 26, Susan Rhew, principal of Tabb Middle School (TMS) was notified that TMS has been selected as the Middle School of the Month for WHRO’s “School Talk Monthly” program for the month of October. Each month, WHRO produces a 30-minute magazine program for educators called “School Talk Monthly.” This national award-winning program features one-on-one interviews with outstanding educators and students, on-location segments highlighting exciting school projects and activities, video clips and Internet sites for teachers correlated to Virginia Standards of Learning and upcoming professional development events. Each month, four local schools (one elementary, middle, high, and independent) are recognized on the show as Schools of the Month. Schools are selected based on achievements, contributions and involvement in student education.

 

The segment showcasing TMS will air on WHRO Channel 15 on Sunday, October 2nd at 2 p.m. The “School Talk” segment will also be available online via video streaming at www.schooltalk.org. In addition, School of the Month information is posted on the website each month with links to the schools’ websites.
