YCSD Remote Learning Day - January 24, 2025

Posted On: 1/23/2025

With the safety of all our students, staff, and families in mind, the York County School Division will implement another asynchronous remote learning day tomorrow, Friday, January 24, 2025, in place of the scheduled early release day. 12-month staff should report to their work locations on a 2-hour delay. Essential personnel should report as directed by supervisors.

While many main roads are clear, numerous neighborhood streets across the county and region remain snow and/or ice-covered, with no expectation for improvement overnight. We know some staff and families may feel they could make it to school safely, but we must consider road conditions for all staff and students.

Asynchronous Remote Learning Day 2

  • Preschool-Grade 2: Students should use the learning packets sent home earlier this week.
  • Grades 3-12: Assignments will be available in Canvas unless otherwise directed by the teacher(s). Middle and high school students should complete assignments for their B-day classes.
  • Students can work at their own pace throughout the day.

Additional information regarding asynchronous learning in weather emergencies is available on the division website.

Important Dates

As a reminder, Monday is a scheduled student holiday/teacher workday. The second semester will begin Tuesday, January 28, as an A-day for middle and high school students. Report cards will now be issued on Monday, February 3.

Finally, we understand how challenging this month has been with the schedule changes caused by the weather, and we truly appreciate your patience, flexibility and support.
