An Experiment in Geology

Dr. Richard Berquist of the College of William and Mary and his assistant, Lee Briscoe arrived at Tabb High School with drilling equipment to demonstrate earth sampling techniques to Richard Howell's Earth Science classes. Students watched as Dr. Berquist and Mr. Briscoe wrangled the amazing drill to depths of 50 feet and then assisted the team as the samples were unearthed and examined. Students then analyzed the samples from different depths. Dr. Berquist assisted the students by providing information about the local geological formations and the Earth history they represent.
