Students Launch Boat Designs

Six students from York High School won first place in the boat design competition sponsored by the Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding Apprentice School’s chapter of the Society of Naval Architect and Marine Engineers. The shipyard apprentices used the student designs to build the 9 foot long vessels. The boat, dubbed Boats and Hose was tested for speed, steering, construction, propulsion and maneuverability.
