The Essay Project for 2009-2010 theme was "Strong Citizens-Strong Communities". There were 132 entries. The following York County School Division students placed in their academic level:
High School
1st Place - Kirk Byron Smith, Tabb High School, Yorktown, Grade 11
3rd Place - Andrew Watt, York High School, Yorktown, Grade 12
Middle School
2nd Place - Melissa Jones, Grafton Middle School, Yorktown, Grade 8
The winners will be celebrated at the April District Dinner. Congratulations to all our winners and participants!
