Calendar Development Update

The School Board received a brief update on the development of school calendars at Monday night’s work session. Dr. Shandor informed board members that the YCSD calendar committee will develop a 2020-21 calendar with a start date of Tuesday, September 8, 2020 (the day after Labor Day).

This decision was made in agreement with other regional school divisions, after determining that more time is needed to thoroughly review, and address, the stakeholder feedback provided through surveys conducted in September.

Throughout this school year, both the YCSD and regional calendar committees will use the survey feedback to develop proposals for the 2021-22 school year that will include options for a pre-Labor Day start.
