TMS Students Visit York Convalescent

As part of their transformative project, Lisa Spruill’s Public Speaking class at Tabb Middle School (TMS) researched what life was like for a teenager living in the 40’s and 50’s. Based on research they conducted with Media Specialist Nanci Diggs in the library, students wrote a set of questions, which they used to interview the residents at the York Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center. After the field trip, the students prepared reports on the information that they collected from their interviews and presented their findings to their classmates. The students also shared how fulfilling the project was for them personally.
