NOAA B-WET Grant

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Chesapeake Bay Office has awarded the York County School Division $225,000 over three years to implement meaningful watershed educational experiences in secondary schools. Funding will be used to support professional development for teachers and field trips for students in grades 6 and 7 as well as biology and Earth Science courses. The first cohort of teachers participated in a training session this summer. Teachers received professional development in project design, scientific inquiry, and the use of field experiences as a learning tool.
