YCSD Codeathon

The York County School Division (YCSD), in collaboration with Discovery Education, hosted its third Codeathon - A Day of Discovery: Codeathon 3.0 - Saturday, May 30, at Tabb High School. This year’s event provided 100 middle school student participants with a dynamic overview of programming and videography concepts through hands-on activities. The computer science-themed day was filled with programming Lego Mindstorm robots, interacting with a humanoid robot, and creating original Board Builder websites using text, pictures and video. Additionally, a panel of experts provided an opportunity for parents to discuss the importance of computer science courses in YCSD and how coding is applied to applications we use daily.
