February is School Board Appreciation Month

The Virginia School Boards Association annually observes February as School Board Appreciation Month. The York County School Division wishes to acknowledge the York County School Board members and their commitment to our students, staff and community.

The York County School Division (YCSD) is fortunate to have School Board members who (1) graduated from division schools, (2) have children who attend(ed) division schools, and (3) have been recognized at regional, state and national levels for their commitment to education.

While school board meetings are typically held twice a month, the work of each individual member goes well beyond those monthly meetings. School board members play an important role in the leadership of the division, communicating with our community, and advocating for public education at the local, state and national level.

Thanks to School Board members for their time and professionalism as YCSD celebrates another year where all schools are accredited!
