Tabb Middle School Students Visit York Convalescent

As part of their transformative learning project, Lisa Spruill's public speaking class at Tabb Middle School (TMS) researched what life was like for a teenager living in the 40s and 50s. Based on their research with TMS librarian Nanci Diggs, students wrote a set of questions that they used to interview the residents at the York Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center.

After the field trip, the students presented their findings to their classmates. They also discussed their experiences talking with the residents. The students shared with Mrs. Spruill, Ms. Diggs and their classmates that the project was a personally fulfilling experience.
