TMS First Lego League Team Receives Judges Award

Tabb Middle School’s (TMS) First Lego League (FLL) Team "Tigers A.I." received the Judges Award at the FLL VA-DC regional tournament in Newport News on November 8, recognizing the team for fantastic cooperation, gracious professionalism and all around positive spirit towards their project and robotic missions.

The team spent eight weeks developing a question and solution for this year's topic "World Class." They decided to find out why people develop misconceptions like, "...all GMO's cause cancer..." or "...you catch a cold from being cold". They also created a "Validity Test" for anyone to use when encountering confusing information that should be further researched. Both the Project and Robot Missions were rigorous and rewarding.

The FLL program helps children ages 9-14 develop both STEM and 21st century skills. Tigers AI had an awesome experience and we can't wait to do it again! We know that "What we discover is more important then what we win," and we discovered a lot this season!
