YCSD Receives School Security Grant

Governor Terry McAuliffe has awarded five York County School Division (YCSD) buildings with School Security Equipment grants. The state developed the grant program to assist schools with security upgrades such as video monitoring systems, electronic-access controls, visitor-identification systems, enhanced communications links between schools and law enforcement agencies, and other security upgrades.

The division applied for the grants to help fund the installation of security cameras at Bethel Manor, Dare, Grafton Bethel, Seaford, and Yorktown elementary schools. The grant will augment local funding that supports installation of the cameras at all ten elementary schools.
