YCSD Student Shares Winning Essay on KIDTALK

York County School Division’s (YCSD) Destini Canion, fifth grade student at Bethel Manor Elementary School, placed second in the Martin Luther King Essay Contest sponsored by WAVY TV and KIDTALK. Nearly 400 entries were submitted for the contest. Newport News students, Kaila Lemons and Tyana Scott placed first and third place. The group of nine winners were featured on the January KIDTALK episode honoring Dr. King.
