YRA Great Computer Challenge Teams

York River Academy (YRA) took two teams to Old Dominion University to participate in this year’s Great Computer Challenge (GCC). The teams were entered in two categories of competition: Video Editing and Desktop Presentations. Teams participating in GCC are only allowed to bring one computer and certain approved peripheral items. No outside resources can be used, and no internet access is allowed. Students have three hours to complete the challenge, using only their equipment, their computer skills, and their creative minds.

YRA was well-represented this year, with both of teams bringing home awards for their work:

• Video Editing: Third place (Daniel Montgomery, Carter Rose, Sam Swanton)
• Desktop Presentations: Third Place (Nicole Bergeron and Esther Stevens)
