Wonder Writing

Students in Sandy Cherry's fifth grade class at Grafton Bethel Elementary School (GBES) have been reading Wonder, by R. J. Palacio, which tells of a twelve-year-old boy with a facial deformity. After watching a video from the Craniofacial Association showing children participating in an annual retreat, GBES students wanted to take action. They chose to write friendly letters to the next group of children who will attend the retreat. This was a perfect addition to the school’s Anti-Bullying activities.
