Emergency Preparedness

York County School Division (YCSD) principals and administrators took part in tabletop drills with local emergency officials this week. Participants were provided emergency scenarios for which they had to devise courses of action to ensure student and staff safety. The professional development exercise is part of the ongoing Emergency Preparation partnership between the YCSD, the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, and Fire & Life Safety. The public agencies also work with division staff during emergency drills held at the schools with students and staff.
