Jennie MacBlane, a fourth grade teacher at Bethel Manor Elementary School, was named the 2014 York County School Division Teacher of the Year during a surprise visit to her classroom. Known for her enthusiasm and passion for writing, MacBlane brings books to life and instills a love of reading and writing in her students. “We are truly honored to have Jennie MacBlane as one of our teachers,” said Dr. Stephanie Guy, the division’s Chief Academic Officer. “From the school-level to the division-level, all of our Teacher of the Year recipients exemplify what great teachers do every day – demonstrate a passion for learning, unwavering support for their students, and countless hours planning and refining engaging lessons.” A graduate of the College of William & Mary, MacBlane joined the division as a teacher at Bethel Manor Elementary School in 2004. In addition to her teaching duties, she serves as sponsor and advisor for various school activities. YCSD is also pleased to recognize all school-level Teachers of the Year. |
