YCSD Students Win Big at Regional Science FairPosted On: 3/22/2013 |
Students from all York County School Division middle and high schools represented the division in the Tidewater Regional Science Fair on Saturday, March 16, 2013, with 49 entries earning awards ranging from First Place to Honorable Mention. YCSD students competed against students from school divisions throughout the Hampton Roads region, bringing home top honors in 14 categories. Students also claimed more than $2,000 in cash prizes all together. Katie Webb, a Tabb High School student, not only earned First Place in the Senior Division Earth and Planetary Science category, she also earned the overall First Grand Prize. Shijia Wang, a York High School student, earned Second Grand Prize in addition to her First Place honors in the Senior Division Engineering: Electrical and Mechanical Category. Both students have been selected to attend and represent YCSD at the International Science Fair in Phoenix, Arizona in May. Congratulations to all the student participants! |
