YCSD Mitigation Strategies - Student Masking Update

During a special meeting this evening, the York County School Board voted unanimously to adjust some of the division’s COVID-19 mitigation strategies. Beginning Tuesday, February 22, students will have the option to remove masks while inside YCSD school buildings and offices. Read more

YCSD Mitigation Strategies - Masking Update

As we seek additional guidance regarding the conflicts between Executive Order 2 and SB1303, the York County School Division will continue to implement the layered mitigation strategies that have been in place in our schools throughout this school year - including requiring all students, staff and visitors to wear masks inside school buildings and on school buses - until further notice. YCSD Virtual Learning Day - January 21, 2022

Friday, January 21, will be a virtual learning day for all York County School Division students, including preschool, due to the forecast for winter weather tonight and tomorrow. While the forecasts continue to change slightly as to the timing and amount of snowfall, we are making this decision now to give our families and staff enough notice to prepare and to ensure students and staff are not traveling to and from school in potentially hazardous conditions. YCSD Early Release Day - January 20, 2022

York County School Division will be implementing early dismissals for all schools tomorrow, Thursday, January 20 due to the potential for hazardous road conditions as winter weather moves into our area. As a reminder, when schools close early for weather, all afterschool activities, athletics and the Right at School program are also canceled. PreSchool programs are also not held on early release days. The adjusted schedule for early release days is available on the division website. Read more



Instructional Material Review

The Instruction Department will hold a public review of the instructional materials recommended for adoption by the school division. These materials may include physical textbooks, eBooks, and any additional electronic resources. The purchasing of these materials will depend on funding. Read more



YCSD Informational Release - Week of Jan. 17, 2022

On Saturday, Governor Youngkin issued an executive order related to schools and masking. It is important to note that this order does not go into effect until Monday, January 24. Therefore, tomorrow morning and all this week, students and staff will continue to be required to wear masks in schools and on school buses in accordance with the protocols we have had in place this school year. YCSD Adopts Shorter Isolation and Quarantine Periods

The York County School Division will adopt shorter isolation and quarantine periods for staff and students in grades K-12, effective Tuesday, January 11, 2022. This adjustment reflects information received from state officials after the CDC provided clarification on the agency’s revised guidance. Read more

YCSD Schools Closed - January 4, 2022

The York County School Division will be closed for students tomorrow, Tuesday, January 4. The rain and snow that affected our area today are expected to produce icy road conditions overnight. Based on the forecasted temperatures, these conditions are not expected to improve sufficiently to allow bus transportation tomorrow morning. Read more
