| Tabb Cheer Walks for Alzheimer'sPosted on: Friday, October 26, 2012The Tabb High School JV and Varsity Sideline Cheerleaders participated in the 2012 Peninsula Alzheimer's Walk on Saturday October 20th, 2012 in Port Warwick. The event raised $200,000 for the Alzheimer's Association and the THS students and families were proud to collect almost $800. Alzheimer's is the sixth-leading cause of death in the country and the only cause of death among the top 10 in the United States that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed. | Plenty of PumpkinsPosted on: Friday, October 26, 2012It is a long-held tradition at Dare Elementary School for the parents and students to enter their creations in the Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest.  This years' crop of pumpkins was outstanding with lots of spooky, funny, and creative pumpkins!  All pumpkins were donated to the ARC group home to be enjoyed on Halloween. Read more  |

| Thank You Colonial KitchensPosted on: Friday, October 26, 2012Colonial Kitchens and Custom Cabinets generously donated beautiful new countertops to the Yorktown Elementary MST Magnet School library.  The old countertops were bright neon yellow so the beige color contributes to the appearance of the newly renovated and freshly painted child friendly library.  Mrs. Concannon’s kindergarten students made a hand print sign, thanking the men for their hard work and gracious donation. Read more  | 
| YMS Pledges to be Drug-free and Stay in the Green ZonePosted on: Friday, October 26, 2012Yorktown Middle School (YMS) is celebrating Red Ribbon Week, October 22-26.  Red Ribbon Week began in 1988 and is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country.  The US Drug Enforcement Agency estimates that 80 million people currently participate in this program.  Yorktown Middle School students are proud to be part of this campaign and pledge to be drug free. Students pledge to honor YMS's tradition of a drug-free school and school body by signing a "Drug-Free" banner in the main hallway. Read more  |
